In keeping with EHL’s tradition of putting theory into practice, we partner with key industry players in complementary fields to advance the knowledge and practice of hospitality and service management.
Sponsoring an institute for in-depth industry-related studies gives access to dedicated multidisciplinary teams of faculty to deliver the solutions in a collaborative manner.
The Institute of Customer Experience Management (ICEM) was launched at EHL (Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne) in September 2020 with the vision of becoming a leading customer experience research institute in the field of hospitality and service. ICEM works at the intersection of customer experience management and digital media within the extended hospitality and service industries.
Launched in 2018, the Institute of Business Creativity aims to build bridges between the business and academic worlds, and consequently produce relevant, highly impactful, practice-based research and solutions. The institute offers a wide spectrum of services, including dedicated research labs set up in consort with international firms active in hospitality, food and beverage or hotel management. In addition to the value-based research projects, the IBC team also supports companies by providing tailor-made executive workshops and case studies to enhance their business development.
The Hospitality Real Estate & Finance institute promotes research, education, and networking in hospitality real estate and finance. Theory is linked to practice by developing courses and case studies in collaboration with industry experts. In addition to research, the Institute organizes network initiatives such as the private equity conferences and the real estate & finance seminars. Through these events, the Institute facilitates exchanges between academics, students, alumni, and professionals.
The mission of the Institute of Nutrition R&D is to apply nature-inspired designs to tackle modern nutritional challenges. The Institute draws on EHL’s know-how and network to integrate culinary expertise and science research to develop healthy, sustainable and tasty food. The research team draws on a scientific committee comprising industry-leading companies, chefs and academic partners to identify priority topics for future F&B offers. It hosts the Nestlé Research Lab.
The institute conducts thorough economic analysis and predicts trends at regional and industry levels by leveraging academic expertise in economics. We collaborate with a range of economic stakeholders, collect and analyze data using advanced statistical methods, develop precise economic models, and present our findings through industry reports, academic papers, web articles, and seminars.
