Project Description

This project aims to make a contribution to the literature on sustainability and responsibility by tackling the ever- increasing field of regenerative businesses; particularly the project has been designed to create (i) a Regenerative Hospitality Index (RHI), an open self-assessment tool to assess the potential for regeneration in Swiss hospitality establishments; (ii) a canvas-based visual methodology to define areas of intervention to strengthen the regenerative power of Swiss hotels. Finally, this research project will create guidelines for the implementation of regenerative hospitality in the form of the Swiss Regenerative Hospitality Playbook (released under Creative Commons license). The playbook will be based on the experience gathered from a canvas-based multi-case study research. Therefore, this project has been designed with a twofold contribution: (i) theory wise the index will advance the understanding of regenerative business in the hospitality field and (ii) practice wise the canvas-based approach and the playbook will offer guidelines and practical examples to implement a regenerative approach in the Swiss hospitality sector.
