Project Description

The project examines the evolution of the asset-light strategy in the hospitality industry. This involves understanding motivations, implementation methods, and implications, considering both macroeconomic and firm-specific factors. It further constructs asset-light indicators  encompassing accounting-based, market-based, and qualitative metrics, and finishes by analysing the impact of asset-light strategies on corporate risk and performance. This includes comparing historical performance, assessing investor perceptions, and considering ownership structures.
