Event Description
Vine to Mind is a unique event created by the Harvard Data Science Initiative (HDSI) that explores the intersection of data science, neuroscience, and the sensory experience of wine. Following the success of the first Vine to Mind Symposium in 2024, this groundbreaking event will now be held annually. For the 2025 edition, EHL Hospitality Business School hosted the conference on its campus in Lausanne and collaborated with HDSI to organize dedicated sessions about wine economics and innovative tastings.
Participants learn how techniques from machine learning, psychology, and sensory science are used to model taste experiences, decode brain responses to flavor, and analyze patterns in wine appreciation. Whether you're a researcher, a wine lover, or simply curious, Vine to Mind offers an engaging, thought-provoking experience that transforms the way we think about taste, data, and the brain.
This year, we convene at EHL Business School in Lausanne to explore the dynamic intersections between wine, data science and AI —two days packed with immersive discussions, interactive experiences, and insights from top experts including Laura Catena, Paulina Vicard, Jamie Ritchie, James Miles, and José Vouillamoz.
